The West Valley baseball team fell 9-3 to a strong Feather River squad Friday at the Gary Engleken Tournament at Yuba College. The Golden Eagles (6-3) grabbed all the runs they would need with a four-run first highlighted by Chase Fernlund's three-run double off WVC starter Anthonee Bartholic. West Valley's Nate Petrov put the Vikings (3-3) on the board with a solo HR in the sixth. WVC picked up a pair of unearned runs in the ninth when Michael Schillage scored on an Eagle throwing error on Andrew Tri's pinch-hit single and a Tri run on a three-base throwing error on a Jake Pao grounder. Bartholic (0-1) took the loss and Jerome Bohannan earned the win to improve to 2-0.
