West Valley product Baron Bracey signs professional contract in Germany

SARATOGA, Calif. — Former West Valley College men's basketball standout and 2024 state champion Baron Bracey has signed his first professional contract, inking a deal with Accent Baskets Salzkotten of the German Regionalliga Pro 1 for the 2026-27 season.

A dominant force during his two seasons in Saratoga, the San Diego native and Balboa Prep product was a foundational piece of the Vikings' historic undefeated 33-0 state championship run in 2024. During his time at West Valley, Bracey built a decorated resume, earning Coast-South Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors alongside being named a two-time first-team All-Conference selection, a two-time first-team All-Defensive Team honoree and first-team All-Freshman.

Following his stellar career as a Viking, the 6-foot-2 guard transferred to Southern Nazarene University. During his senior campaign with the Crimson Storm, Bracey averaged 14.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, establishing himself as a top performer and earning first-team All-Great American Conference accolades.

Accent Baskets Salzkotten head coach Mika Dützer highlighted Bracey's motor and relentless defense upon announcing the signing.

"I was particularly impressed by the passion with which Baron plays the game," Dützer said. "He brings tremendous energy to the court on every play and stands out with his strong defensive qualities. That exact mentality will be a massive asset to our team."

Bracey is eager to begin his professional journey overseas.

"I am very excited for the 2026-27 season with Accent Baskets Salzkotten," Bracey said in the team's official release. "This opportunity means a lot to me and is not something I take for granted. I am thankful to my family, coaches, teammates and everyone who has supported me along the way. I look forward to this new chapter — I want to learn, continue to develop and give my best for the club every day."
