Grimmett headlines fifth-place finish

CUPERTINO -- West Valley men's swim finished fifth in the Coast Conference, scoring 344 while the hosts, De Anza College, took the Coast Conference crown.

 

Tristan Grimmett had the strongest individual performance, anchoring the lone event that the Vikings placed in. As an individual, Grimmett scored a team-high 40. The quarter of Grimmett, Nathan Arakawa, Bronson Chungson and Liam Rogers placed third in the 200 meter freestyle relay in 1:26:05. Grimmett had the best split time at 21.24 as the Vikings finished just a split second behind Ohlone at 1:25:95.

 

Lucas Castro also performed admirably, finishing second on the squad in total scoring with a personal best 5:00.79 in the 500 Free.
