Enrico De Munno has established himself as a prominent figure in the California aquatics scene, transitioning from a highly decorated collegiate playing career to a successful coach. In 2025, De Munno took over as the Head Coach of the West Valley College women’s water polo and swimming programs. Despite a challenging 7-19 transitional record in his debut water polo season, De Munno rallied his squad in the postseason, highlighted by a dominant 17-8 opening-round victory over Cabrillo that propelled the Vikings into the Coast Conference championship game. Under his guidance that year, Emma Van Laar, Pooja Bucklin, and Sofia Gaytan Martinez earned First Team All-Coast Conference honors, while Kyla McCartney and Neeki Afshar secured Second Team selections. On the deck for the swim season, De Munno navigated the Vikings to a strong third-place team finish at the ultra-competitive Coast Conference Championship meet.

De Munno's head coaching success at West Valley builds upon his previous tenure at the college as an assistant coach from 2021 to 2022, a successful stretch where he helped guide the Vikings to consecutive conference and postseason championships. During those two years, he assisted both the men's and women's water polo programs to Coast Conference Championships, capped by a state championship title for the women and a state runner-up finish for the men. In the pool, he assisted the swim and dive teams to overall men's and women's Coast Conference titles, as well as a state champion crown in the women's 400 IM. Between his stints at West Valley, De Munno spent the 2023 season as an assistant coach for the Division I San José State University women's water polo team. At SJSU, he helped lead the Spartans to a 12-20 finish in 2023. His tenure in San José was highlighted by mentoring multiple All-Americans, while fostering an academic culture that saw the Spartans rank among the top ten programs nationally in 2023 with a 3.56 team GPA. Alongside his collegiate coaching, De Munno has been a mainstay with NorCal Aquatics since 2021, leading the 18U girls' winter team to the club state tournament and directing the 14U girls' summer squad to a seventh-place finish in the Gold Division at the Junior Olympics.

De Munno’s coaching pedigree is deeply rooted in his own background as a standout collegiate athlete. As a player, he capped off his college career at Whittier College in 2019, where he helped lead the Poets to a SCIAC regular season title, a SCIAC tournament championship, and the Division III National Championship. Prior to transferring to Whittier, De Munno was a key player right at West Valley College from 2017 to 2018. During his sophomore campaign in 2018, he led the Vikings to Coast Conference and NorCal Championships, earning First Team Coast Conference, First Team All-NorCal, and Second Team All-State honors while steering the team to a third-place finish at the state tournament. His freshman season in 2017 was equally impressive, as he secured First Team All-Coast, All-NorCal, and All-State recognition while driving West Valley to conference and regional titles, finishing as the state championship runner-up.
