The West Valley softball team picked up the 14th seed in the upcoming NorCal playoffs, the CCCAA announced this afternoon. The Vikings (18-16) travel to Sierra Friday-Saturday (May 4-5) to take on the #3 Wolverines (33-7). Four other teams from the Coast Conference - #1 San Mateo, #4 Monterey Peninsula, #5 Ohlone and #8 San Jose City - join the Vikings in the opening round. West Valley posted wins against six NorCal playoff teams during the regular season: Sierra (3-1 on 2/15), Ohlone (2-1, 4/21), #7 San Joaquin Delta (9-6, 2/1), #9 Butte (4-1, 1/26), #12 Diablo Valley (6-5, 16-8 on 2/10), and #16 Solano (11-1, 3/10). Game times are 2:00pm Friday, and Saturday at noon, and 2:00pm, if needed.
